The ESSENCE of ISLAM is JIHAD
This article is based on the framework of Islamic historical time line and fleshed out with views, Islamic texts and observations of the conditions prevailing at the time of the events in order to understand the development of Islam in the 21st Century. Every attempt is made to be accurate and authentic, but there will be different interpretations of the events. The following are the interpretations of the author. (It is hoped this article will spur further studies on this topic. Last Revised 22.11.09)
ISLAM WILL DOMINATE THE WORLD-JIHAD
Muslims do not see themselves as terrorists or suicide bombers, but as soldiers and Jihadists of Allah and doing their duty for the advancement and protection of Islam. They believe that they are bidding Allah’s commands. That is why their faith is so strong, that the ultimate goal of being a Shahid for Allah is the greatest sacrifice a Muslim could make for Allah and he would be assured a place in Paradise with Allah. As no other but Allah may be worshipped except Allah himself, all others are considered kafirs and thus enemies of Allah and deserve to be exterminated. Christians erroneously call the Jihadists as terrorists, but not in the eyes of Islam, they are, correctly, martyrs.
What Everybody (Every American) Needs to Know about Jihad [Aa]
Qur’an:2:216 “Jihad (Holy fighting in Allah’s Cause) is ordained for you (Muslims), though you dislike it. But it is possible that you dislike a thing which is good for you, and like a thing which is bad for you. But Allah knows, and you know not.” [Another translation reads:] “Warfare is ordained for you.”
Qur’an:20.14 “Surely I am Allah, there is no god but I, therefore serve Me and keep up prayer for My remembrance:”
Qur’an:2.106 “Whatever communications We(Prophet Muhammad) abrogate or cause to be forgotten, We bring one better than it or like it. Do you not know that Allah has power over all things?”
Qur’an:9:5 “Fight and kill the disbelievers wherever you find them, take them captive, harass them, lie in wait and ambush them using every stratagem of war.”
Qur’an:8:39 “So fight them(Kafirs) until there is no more Fitnah (disbelief [non-Muslims]) and all submit to the religion of Allah alone (in the whole world).”
Using the framework of Islamic Jihad time line, we flesh out its significance by analysing details that have been marginalised. We will, thereby, see a different aspect of the different cultural philosophies based on the Qur’anic verses above.
The Slow Growth of Islam
The ministry of Islam was started when Muhammad was 40 years of age. His initial methods were similar to that adopted by Judaism and Christianity, i.e. kind, gentle and peaceful persuasion to win over converts. One of his early motto was, “No compulsion in Religion….” Surah 2:256. (But this is out of context and will be discussed later.)
Muhammad’s first convert was his wife, Khadija, and in the next 3 years he managed to convert 7 men to join him, one of whom was his slave, Said. The others were Abu Bakr, Uthman ibn Affan, Zubair ibnel Awam, Abdel Rahman ibn Auf, Saad ibn abi Wakkaas, and Talha.
Mohammed, who was then under the protection of his powerful uncle Abu-Talib, the clan’s chief, began preaching Islam in earnest when he was 40 years of age. After 5 years of proselytising Mohammed’s followers grew to 16 members. It took several more years before he managed to gain 40 men and women in Mecca. 
Mohammed’s Attitude’s Changed After Medina
Mohammed continued to preach his faith despite some strong and violent opposition from the critical Meccan society, but his safety was guaranteed by his uncle, Abu Talib the powerful clan leader. But when Abu Talib the clan leader died in 619 AD the clan protection of Mohammed ended and he was fair game to his enemies. After Abu Talib’s death, Muslims were no longer welcomed in Mecca.
Mohammed was, however, invited by 6 Medinan traders to establish himself in Medina to resolve some of the problems of the 11 different fighting and feuding tribal clans (non-Muslim) in Medina. Seventy-five Medinans met with Mohammed and formed a group known as “The Pledge of War group.” This group began the tribal activity of “razzias” or caravan raids, basically robbing raids for spoils such as goods, animals, slaves and ransom (highwaymen). But as Mohammed consolidated his power in Medina and eliminated some of his enemies through assassinations.
Mohammed began executing his enemies in a most brutal way to eliminate any future retaliation and opposition upon his band of caravan raiders. He soon realised that this method of brutality and the use of force not only enhanced his wealth, and power it also influenced more and more people to follow his cause, be it caravan raiding or Islam. His following grew rapidly because he was powerful and successful and those who did not belong to his raiding party or faith feared him.
Realising his recent successes and greatly increased followings, Mohammed’s personality changed in Medina. Mohammed introduced a harder edge to the verses in the Koran especially with regard to warfare. He did this by “abrogation” of his previous pronouncements and verses. In his rage and frustration Mohammed turned viciously upon the unbelievers who fought him. The Beni Qoreiga tribe were not the only people that Mohammed was against as he now included ‘The People of The Book.
In Surah 9:29 we read his ‘abrogated’ verse,
“Fight those who do not believe in Allah, nor in the latter day, nor do they prohibit what Allah and His Apostle have prohibited, nor follow the religion of truth, out of those who have been given the Book, until they pay the tax in acknowledgement of Islam’s superiority and they are in a state of subjection.”
Also Mohammad’s famous, “The Verse of the Sword, Quran 9:5” that abrogates 124 of his earlier more tolerant verses regarding the People of the Book (Jew and Christians and their Bible.)
Qur’an:9:5 “Fight and kill the disbelievers (kafirs) wherever you find them, take them captive, harass them, lie in wait and ambush them using every stratagem of war.”
In Surah 8:65 Mohammed made another abrogation, “O Prophet! Urge the believers to war; if there are twenty patient ones of you they shall overcome two hundred, and if there are a hundred of you they shall overcome a thousand of those who disbelieve, because they are a people who do not understand.” 
This marked a significant change in the personality of the Prophet Muhammad. If you observe the timeline below, you will note that Muhammad immigrates from Mecca to Medina and rallies his followers to his cause.
From 623 till Muhammad’s death in 632, a period of 9 years, Muhammad was responsible for 29 aggressive encounters with non-Muslims, and this set the precedence and dictated the example for all future Islamic encounters of the future. Even after his death, till the records stopped in the year 777 for this archive, Muslims continued with their conquest and subjugation of their neighbours with great skill and success. As we examine more of the history of Islam, Islam has had a glorious history of subduing great swaths of northern Africa, and either converting the defeated to accept Islam or killing those who resisted or refused to submit to Islam. Those were the codes of the tribal behaviour in the 7th century, tribal survival was a matter of life or death, and no quarter is spared. But as we continue to examine the Islamic historical time line we will observe that Islam has kept to its original patterns of ruthless conduct towards her enemies that followed the examples set by the Prophet of Allah, Prophet Muhammad, the founder of Islam.
Muhammad had found the ultimate solution for spreading Islam to the world, because post Medina Islam spread and remained instilled in the communities where it was implanted. The reasons are simple to understand, and for all to study why Islam has been so successful even today.
Bukhari:V4B52N220 “Allah’s Apostle (Muhammad) said, ‘I HAVE BEEN MADE VICTORIOUS WITH TERROR.”
We only have to observe how our western politicians, and Church leaders have tread so carefully with political correctness to know how effective the above indimidation has been over the centuries. One public beheading in Iraq, and our diplomats walk softly softly, one 9/11 and the Free Press are told to watch their pen and apply “political correctness” or have their “press validation” withdrawn from Arab states. Islamic intimidation works wonders, hence:
Bukhari:V4B52N220 “Allah’s Apostle (Muhammad) said,
“I HAVE BEEN MADE VICTORIOUS WITH TERROR.”
Cartoons are forced to be withdrawn, “Satanic Verses” banned and Salman Rushdie, the author, is in fear of his life, while Muslims can demonstrate and say what they like with little fear for consequences-they are never charged (See 1st Illustration above). The West are intimidated by terror and forced into “political correctness” and silence and even go further by seeking every way to appease Islam.
The subtle way the Euro-Arab Dialogue (EAD) has slowly, in the past 30 years, intimidated and cajoled Europe to toe the Arab line of “political correctness” to the point that Europeans are practical dhimmis to Islamic doctrines and views by the use of the Oil weapon and other “carrot and stick” approaches against European governments is a case worth further reading [6a].
Apostasy: IDENTIFY AND KILL ALL THE APOSTATES
Any Muslim who turns away from Islam is an apostate and the penalty is death.
“Most Muslims will tell us that there is no command in the Koran regarding the punishment for apostasy in their earthly life. One verse that is applicable is:
Quran:4.89 “They (kafir) desire that you (Muslims) should disbelieve (in Allah) as they have disbelieved, so that you might be (all) alike; therefore take not from among them friends until they fly (their homes) in Allah’s way; but if they turn back, then seize them and kill them wherever you find them, and take not from among them a friend of a helper.”
However, the Qur’an is supplemented by the Hadiths and therein lies many of Mohammed’s views and statements on apostasy.
(1) Bukhari, Volume 4, Book 52, Number 260:
Ali burnt some people alive (former Muslims), Prophet had said, ‘If somebody (a Muslim) discards his religion, kill him.’ ”
Ishaq:550: The reason that Allah’s Messenger (Prophet Mohammed) ordered Abdullah Bin Sad slain was because he had become a Muslim and used to write down Qur’an Revelation. Then he apostatized (rejected Islam) after becoming suspicious of some verses which the prophet changed after his suggestions.
(2) Ishaq:551 The Messenger (Prophet Mohammed) ordered Miqyas’ assassination because he became a renegade by rejecting Islam.
(3) Bukhari, 5-59-632 Once Muadh ( one of the six trusted scholars by Mohammed called Kutab al-Wahi) paid a visit to Abu Musa and saw a chained man. Muadh asked, “What is this?” Abu Musa said, “[He was] a Jew who embraced Islam and has now turned apostate,” Muadh said, “I will surely chop off his neck!”
(4) Bukhari Volume 9, Book 83, Number 17:
Allah’s Apostle (Prophet Mohammed) said,
“The blood of a Muslim cannot be shed except in three cases: In Qisas for murder, a married person who commits illegal sexual intercourse and the one who reverts from Islam (apostate) and leaves the Muslims.” 
Despite deceitful Muslims who attempt to misinform kafirs that there is no penalty for leaving Islam, Qur’an 4:89 and the above Hadiths speak otherwise. As the Sharia Law is based on the Qur’an as well as the Hadiths, the death penalty for apostasy applies in several Islamic nations. For example:
“Mohammed: You are ignorant of the Qur’an, the Hadiths, and Sharia. I am a Muslim living in Pakistan. We have Sharia laws here in accordance with Qur’an and Sunna. In our country apostasy and blasphemy is punishable with death. 
The above citations from Islamic Hadiths, is sufficient evidence that apostasy is viewed seriously with the death penalty and this has been incorporated into the Shariah Laws of many Muslim counries. Muslims attempt to soften Islam by saying there is no (earthly) punishment for apostasy. Quran 4:89 and the Hadiths prove that these Muslims have either been misinformed or are attempting to misinform non-Muslims. The following are additional evidence to prove the point.
As Bukhari Volume 9, Book 83, Number 17: can be easily confused with Quran 5:32 I will quote quote Quran 5:32 here:
Quran 5:32 Shakir: For this reason did We prescribe to the children of Israel that whoever slays a soul, unless it be for manslaughter or for mischief in the land, it is as though he slew all men; and whoever keeps it alive, it is as though he kept alive all men; and certainly Our messengers came to them with clear arguments, but even after that many of them certainly act extravagantly in the land.
This understanding of what constitutes ‘mischief’ in Islam is confirmed by looking to other verses found within the Qur’an. Verse 7:103, for example:
Then after them We sent Moses with Our signs to Pharaoh and his chiefs, but they wrongfully rejected them: So see what was the end of those who made mischief.
Clearly “mischief” which is also equated to “waging war against Allah and His Messenger” in the very next verse, can and does apply to someone who simply refuses to accept Islam.
According to Shaykh Yusuf al-Qaradawi, the world’s most quoted independent Islamic jurist:
So what was first offered as the height of moral teachings found in the Qur’an, turns out to be an intolerant call to violence.
AFTER APOSTATES ARE WIPED OUT,THEN GET RID OF ROTTEN APPLES ,THAT IS, NON TERRORIST TYPES (NON-PRACTISING SO CALLED MODERATE MUSLIMS)
Muslims have to realize that half a Muslim is worse than a kafir. Only a true Muslim can be a terrorist and can terrorize the world. The litmus test is the five times prayer in a mosque where they can be seen and counted. Our great apostle thought of an ingenious way to correct this situation. When he noticed some Muslims missing congregational prayers in mosque regularly, he wanted to set an example for others, he had the vermin burnt alive along with their houses and the families.
Bukhari:V1B11N626 “The Prophet said, “burn all those who had not left their houses for the prayer, burning them alive inside their homes.’”
Following this famous Hadith and Sunna , practising Muslims and Salafi followers of of Abdul Wahab killed or maimed 400,000 “wishy-washy” Muslims of Arabia in 19th century . This terrorized the Muslims of the world and convinced them the power of Islam and increased conversion to Islam many fold.
EVEN OCCASIONAL MISSING OF PRAYERS MUST BE PUNISHED
Bukhari:V1B11N617 “I would order someone to collect firewood and another to lead prayer. Then I would burn the houses of men who did not present themselves at the compulsory prayer and prostration.” [8a] [8a] [8b]
Apostasy is what prevents any Muslim from leaving Islam because the penalty is death. It is a “one way street,” as there is a way in but there is no way out except through the gates of death. It is also noteworthy that when Muhammad and his followers defeated an enemy or overran a village or town, the non-Muslim men were given the choice of converting to Islam or be slaughtered. The women and children and property were taken as slaves and booty to be shared among the Islamic warriors with 20% reserved for their leader Muhammad. It was a lucrative venture for those tribesmen in the 7th Century and an incentive to join up with the leader Muhammad and to convert to Islam to be part of the highwayman gang.
When Islam rules or controls a territory all inhabitants who are not Muslims must submit themselves to the status of a dhimmi and pay the jizyah (dhimmi tax). This was meant to show that the dhimmi was of inferior status. The dhimmi was supposed to appear with the payment (jizah), and in many places he would be struck on the side of jaw/face, or otherwise. A symbolic gesture to show his inferior status.
The payment of jizyah, or the land-tax, kharaj, is only the best-known of the many discriminations which dhimmis have to endure, but there are also other ecoomic, political and social injustices as well. Examples include the requirement that the clothing of Christians and Jews, and their dwelling-places, bear marks indicating that they were either Christians or Jews. The zunnar, or belt, often blue, of the Christians, or the yellow star of the Jews (Hitler borrowed his idea from the “tolerant” court of Abbasid Baghdad), helped to identify people. And why was this need to identify them at all times? Well, suppose one of them did not obey the rules pertaining to dhimmis. For example, dhimmis were banned for riding horses, but could only ride on donkeys, and only side-saddle, and they had to dismount whenever they came upon a Muslim. Dhimmis were not allowed to repair or build new houses of worship. Dhimmis could not testify against Muslims in court, so if there were any quarrel, the Muslim would always have the advantage. And there were of course always the threat that if even a single dhimmi did not fulfil an obligation, or violated some prohibition, not only he, but his entire community could suffer. All this was to humiliate and dehumanise the non-Muslim and to show that Muslims were superior to dhimmis. It also provided the incentive for kafirs to convert to Islam. Again, the use of the carrot and the stick. 
Abrogation of the Qur’an
Most Muslims when discussing with non-Muslims will attempt to portray Islam as a peaceful religion and will quote verses from the Quran that were written before Muhammad moved to Medina but still lived in Mecca. These early verses were plagiarised from the Jewish Torah’s and the Christian Bible’s text that promoted peace and tolerance for all religions and people.
This was all abrogated with various verses, famous of which was
Qur’an:9:5 “Fight and kill the disbelievers (kafirs) wherever you find them, take them captive, harass them, lie in wait and ambush them using every stratagem of war.”
But most Muslims will gladly quote to non-Muslims:
Qur’an:2:256 There is no compulsion in religion…
which is, of course, out of context, and totally misleading because Qur’an: 2:256 must be read in full and in conjunction with Qur’an: 2:257 and together it looks like this:
[2.256] There is no compulsion in religion; truly the right way has become clearly distinct from error; therefore, whoever disbelieves in the Shaitan and believes in Allah he indeed has laid hold on the firmest handle, which shall not break off, and Allah is Hearing, Knowing.
[2.257] Allah is the guardian of those who believe. He brings them out of the darkness into the light; and (as to) those who disbelieve, their guardians are Shaitans who take them out of the light into the darkness; they are the inmates of the fire, in it they shall abide.
That you either follow Shaitan (sic), to darkness and hell-fire or the only other choice is to hold the firmest handle of Allah the All Hearing, Knowing. It is clearly a choice and a compulsion that Islam is the only choice available to Muslims.
By quoting partially Qur’an 2:256 “There is no compulsion in religion” is a deception, or Taqiyya to deceive or misinform the gullible unbeliever (non-Muslims). The Muslims fail to inform the unbeliever that although some abrogated verses still remained in the Quran (for some oversight), but had been nullified, abrogated, and rendered void by more recent verses issued by Muhammad when he was based in Medina and when he began his merciless raids on caravans and innocent villages killing and pillaging innocents. (Most Muslims are probably not even aware of these abrogated verses which can only be verified with a serious study of the Koranic literature.) The Prophet Muhammad based his authority for abrogation by the following Quranic verses:
Surah 2: 106
“None of Our revelations do We abrogate or cause to be forgotten, but We substitute something better or similar: Knowest thou not that Allah Hath power over all things?”
“When We substitute one revelation for another, and Allah knows best what He reveals (in stages), they say, “Thou art but a forger”: but most of them understand not.”
A Muslim scholar and researcher Abil-Kasim Hibat-Allah Ibn-Salama Abi-Nasr noted that of 114 Surahs (chapters) of the Quran, only 43 Surahs were not affected by abrogation, but as the abrogated verses were still inadvertently left undeleted and mixed in with the recently abrogated verses only serious scholastic Islamologists could possibly identify which was which.
THE VERSE OF THE SWORD
The verse that Abrogated (nullified) the 124 Peace Verses.
Surah 9:5 is one of the MOST SIGNIFICANT ABROGATION Verses pronounced by the Prophet Muhammad and is highlighted here because of its importance in its influence of the whole Islamic philosophy and the direction of the Islamic movement.
Hence, we will examine in some detail the cause and effect of this particular abrogation. This is to allow others to examine and delve into the validity of this analysis, with evidence of the verses that were made redundant by the newly introduced verse and its effect on Islamic ideology. Originally, there are 124 versus that called for tolerance and patience that were cancelled/abrogated and replaced by one, single verse. This verse is known as
“The Verse of the SWORD” (Qur’an 9:5):
[9.5] So when the sacred months have passed away, then slay the idolaters wherever you find them, and take them captives and besiege them and lie in wait for them in every ambush, then if they repent and keep up prayer and pay the poor-rate, leave their way free to them; surely Allah is Forgiving, Merciful.
[9.6] And if one of the idolaters seek protection from you, grant him protection till he hears the word of Allah, then make him attain his place of safety; this is because they are a people who do not know.
[9.7] How can there be an agreement for the idolaters with Allah and with His Apostle; except those with whom you made an agreement at the Sacred Mosque? So as long as they are true to you, be true to them; surely Allah loves those who are careful (of their duty).
[9.8] How (can it be)! while if they prevail against you, they would not pay regard in your case to ties of relationship, nor those of covenant; they please you with their mouths while their hearts do not consent; and most of them are transgressors.
[9.9] They have taken a small price for the communications of Allah, so they turn away from His way; surely evil is it that they do.
(I have included the next 4 verses, in order to provide the correct context.)
Other Qur’anic Verses that support the verse of the Sword are:
1) Surah 9:14 “Fight them, and Allah will punish them by your hands, cover them with shame, help you (to victory) over them, heal the breasts of believers”.
2) Surah 9:28 “O ye who believe! Truly the Pagans are unclean; so let them not, after this year of theirs, approach the Sacred Mosque”.
3) Surah 9:30 “The Jews call ‘Uzayr a son of God, and the Christians call Christ the son of God. That is saying from their mouth; (in this) they but imitate the Unbelievers of old used to say. Allah’s curse be on them: how they are deluded away from the Truth!”.
4) Surah 9:73 “O Prophet! Strive hard against the Unbelievers and the Hypocrites, and be firm against them. Their abode is Hell – an evil refuge indeed”.
5) Surah 9:123 “O ye who believe! Fight the Unbelievers who gird you about, and let them find firmness in you: and know that Allah is with those who fear Him”.
Some of the verses abrogated by the verse of the Sword:
1) Surah 2:62 “Those who believe (in the Quran), and the Christians and the Sabians – any who believe in Allah and the Last Day, and work righteousness, shall have their reward with their Lord: on them shall be no fear, nor shall they grieve”.
2) Surah 2:109 “Quite a number of the People of the Book wish they could turn you (people) back to infidelity after ye have believed, from selfish envy, after the Truth hath become manifest unto them: but forgive and overlook, till Allah accomplish his purpose”.
3) Surah 5:13 “But because of their breach of their Covenant, We cursed them, and made their hearts grow hard; they change the words from their (right) places and forget a good part of the Message that was sent them, nor wilt thou cease to find them – barring a few – ever bent on (new) deceits: but forgive them, and overlook (their misdeeds): for Allah loveth those who are kind”.
4) Surah 6:70 “Leave alone those who take their religion to be mere play and amusement, and are deceived by the life of this world. But proclaim (to them) this (truth): that every soul delivers itself to ruin by its own acts: it will find for itself no protector or intercessor except Allah: if it offered every ransom, (or reparation), none will be accepted: such is (the end of) those who deliver themselves to ruin by their own acts: they will have for drink (only) boiling water, and for punishment, one most grievous: for they persisted in rejecting Allah”.
5) Surah 8:61 “But if the enemy incline towards peace, do thou (also) incline towards peace, and trust in Allah”.
6) Surah 29:46 “And dispute ye not with the People of the Book, except with means better (than mere disputation), unless it be with those of them who inflict wrong (and injury); but say, ‘We believe in the revelation which has come down to us and in that which came down to you; our God and your God is One; and it is to Him we bow (in Islam)”.
7) Surah 2:83 “And remember We took a covenant from the Children of Israel (to this effect): worship none but Allah”.
8) Surah 2:139 “Say: Will ye dispute with us about Allah, seeing that He is our Lord and your Lord; that we are responsible for our doings and ye for yours; and that we are sincere (in our faith) in Him?”
9) Surah 2:190 “Fight in the cause of Allah those who fight you, but do not transgress limits; for Allah loveth not transgressors.”
10) Surah 2:191 “But do not fight them at the Sacred Mosque, unless they (first) fight you there”
11) Surah 2:192 “But if they cease, Allah is Oft-Forgiving Most Merciful”.
12) Surah 2:256 “But there is no compulsion in religion”.
13) Surah 3:20 “So if they dispute with thee, say: ‘I have submitted my whole self to Allah and so have those who follow me,’ And say to the People of the Book and so to those who are unlearned: ‘do ye (also) submit yourself? If they do, they are in right guidance, but if they turn back, thy duty is to convey the Message”.
14) Surah 3:28 “Let not the Believers take for friends or helpers unbelievers rather than believers; if any do that, in nothing will there be help from Allah: except by way of precaution, that ye may guard yourself from them”.
15) Surah 4:63 “Those men – Allah knows what is in their hearts; so keep clear of them, but admonish them, and speak to them a word to reach their souls”.
16) Surah 4:80 “He who obeys the Messenger, obeys Allah: but if any turn away, we have not sent thee to watch over their (evil deeds)”.
17) Surah 4:81 “But Allah records their nightly (plots): so keep clear of them, and put thy trust in Allah”.
18) Surah 4:84 “Then fight in Allah’s cause – thou art held responsible only for thyself”.
19) Surah 4:90 “Except those who join a group between whom and you there is a treaty (of peace), or those who approach you with hearts restraining them from fighting you as well as fighting their own people. If Allah had pleased, He could have given them power over you, and they would have fought you: therefore, if they withdraw from you but fight you not, and (instead) send you (guarantees of ) peace, then Allah hath opened no way for you (to war against them)”.
20) Surah 5:2 “O ye who believe! Violate not the sanctity of the Symbols of Allah, nor of the Sacred Month”.

If the Quran is really Allah’s words, and as Allah is all-powerful, all-knowing and all-seeing why was it necessary for the Prophet Muhammad to make such a major changes in Allah’s original verses (using abrogation)? This raises some doubts of the infallibility of the Quranic verses. 
Following the above revelations, the following provides a time line of events in the life of the Prophet Muhammad’s providing a perspective and verification of Muhammad’s life and battles. Prophet Muhammad has therefore set the ultimate example of Islamic codes of behaviour. Starred items are for special note”

The Philosophy of JIHAD
It is well documented that initially Muhammad was unsuccessful in trying to increase the numbers of his followers. At the same time he was rejected and spurned not only by Jews and Christians but also by pagan Arab tribes, including the tribe of his family, the Quraish tribe. But, Muhammad quickly learned through his experiences at Medina that by raiding rich trading caravans and kafir villages, looting them, and with the use of force and intimidation, his Islamic followers grew exceeding fast and with the wealth he accumulated and the increase of his followers he became powerful enough to conquer a vast empire. So Muhammad’s philosophies altered drastically from this time onwards. He found it necessary to abrogate the Quran and introduced suitable verses to suit his changing needs, thus The Verse of the Sword verse 9:5. Muhammad now no longer needed to win followers with with sweet patronising platitudes, but he could now set the terms and conditions and demand subservience or annihilation.
In order to further promote Islam, Muhammad evolved a defensive and offensive tool to instil and indoctrinate his followers into a philosophy of unquestioned devotion to Allah. Muhammad evolved an ingenious and water-tight set of rules that ensured loyalty to his faith, Islam, and that was, “the laws of apostasy.” He also introduced the concept of JIHAD the driving force of Islam. This ensured the success of Islam from Muhammad’s day to this day. Jihad is so important to Muhammad that there are 164 verses in the Koran referring to Jihad and with even more verses in the Hadiths on the same topic. Hence, the importance of understanding the concept of Jihad from the Islamic viewpoint.

[*2.178]…retaliation is prescribed for you in the matter of the slain… [*2.179] …there is life for you in (the law of) retaliation, O men of understanding, that you may guard yourselves.
[*2.190] …fight in the way of Allah with those who fight with you…[*2.191] And kill them wherever you find them, and drive them out from whence they drove you out, and persecution is severer than slaughter, and do not fight with them at the Sacred Mosque until they fight with you in it, but if they do fight you, then slay them; such is the recompense of the unbelievers.

[3.142] Yusuf Ali: Did ye think that ye would enter Heaven without God testing those of you who fought hard (in His Cause) and remained steadfast? [3.143] Pickthall: And verily ye used to wish for death before ye met it (in the field). Now ye have seen it [death] with your eyes!
[3.146] Yusuf Ali: How many of the prophets fought (in Allah’s way) [Jihad], and with them (fought) large bands of godly men? But they never lost heart if they met with disaster in Allah’s way [lost a battle], nor did they weaken (in will) nor give in.
[3.152]…you slew them by His [Allah’s] permission [during a Jihad battle]…[3.153] Pickthall: …the messenger, in your rear, was calling you (to fight)…that which ye missed [war spoils]…[3.154]…They say: Had we any hand in the affair, we would not have been slain here [in a Jihad battle]. Say: Had you remained in your houses, those for whom slaughter was ordained [in a Jihad battle] would certainly have gone forth to the places where they would be slain…[*3.155] (As for) those of you who turned back on the day when the two armies met…[3.156] O you who believe! be not like those who disbelieve and say of their brethren when they travel in the earth or engage in fighting: Had they been with us, they would not have died and they would not have been slain…[3.157]…if you are slain in the way of Allah…mercy is better than what they amass [what those who stay home from Jihad receive – no booty on earth and no perks in heaven]. [3.158] …if indeed you die or you are slain, certainly to Allah shall you be gathered together.
[*3.165]…you [Muslims] had certainly afflicted (the unbelievers) with twice as much [in a Jihad battle]…[*3.166]…when the two armies met ([the Battle of] Uhud)…[*3.167]…Come, fight in Allah’s way, or defend yourselves…If we knew fighting, we would certainly have followed you…
[*3.169] …reckon not those who are killed in Allah’s way as dead; nay, they are alive (and) are provided sustenance from their Lord [meaning they are enjoying their 72 virgins in heaven];
[3.172] …those who responded (at [the Battle of] Uhud) to the call of Allah and the Apostle after a wound had befallen them…shall have a great reward. [*3.173] Those to whom the people said: Surely men have gathered against you [in battle], therefore fear them, but this increased their faith, and they said: Allah is sufficient for us and most excellent is the Protector.
[*3.195] …who fought and were slain…I will most certainly make them enter gardens beneath which rivers flow; a reward from Allah, and with Allah is yet better reward.
[*4.71] …go forth in detachments or go forth in a body [to war]. [*4.72] …hang back [from Jihad] …not present with them [in Jihad].
[*4.74] Therefore let those fight in the way of Allah, who sell this world’s life for the hereafter; and whoever fights in the way of Allah, then be he slain or be he victorious, We shall grant him a mighty reward. [*4.75]…fight in the way of Allah… [*4.76] Those who believe fight in the way of Allah, and those who disbelieve fight in the way of the Satan. Fight therefore against the friends of the Satan…[*4.77] …when fighting is prescribed for them… Our Lord! why hast Thou ordained fighting for us? …
[*4.84] Fight then in Allah’s way…rouse the believers to ardor maybe Allah will restrain the fighting of those who disbelieve…
[*4.89] …take not from among them friends until they fly (their homes) in Allah’s way; but if they turn back [to their homes], then seize them and kill them wherever you find them… [4.90] Allah has not given you a way against them [Allah supposedly does not allow Muslims to fight people friendly to Muslims]. [*4.91]…seize them and kill them wherever you find them…
[*4.94]…when you go to war in Allah’s way… [*4.95] …those who strive hard [Jihad] in Allah’s way with their property and their persons are not equal…Allah shall grant to the strivers [i.e., Jihadist] above the holders back a mighty reward.
[*4.100] …whoever flies in Allah’s way [forsakes his home to fight in Jihad], he will find in the earth many a place of refuge and abundant resources, and whoever goes forth from his house flying to Allah and His Apostle, and then death overtakes him [in Jihad], his reward is indeed with Allah… [4.101] Rodwell: And when ye go forth to war in the land, it shall be no crime in you to cut short your prayers, if ye fear lest the infidels come upon you; Verily, the infidels are your undoubted enemies! [*4.102] …let them take their arms…let them take their precautions and their arms…there is no blame on you, if you are annoyed with rain or if you are sick, that you lay down your arms… [4.103] Khalifa: Once you complete your Contact Prayer (Salat), you shall remember GOD while standing, sitting, or lying down. Once the war is over, you shall observe the Contact Prayers (Salat); the Contact Prayers (Salat) are decreed for the believers at specific times. [*4.104] …be not weak hearted in pursuit of the enemy…
[4.141] Sher Ali: …If you have a victory [in Jihad] from Allah…
[*5.33] The punishment of those who wage war against Allah and His apostle and strive to make mischief in the land is only this, that they should be murdered or crucified or their hands and their feet should be cut off on opposite sides or they should be imprisoned [Pickthall and Yusuf Ali have “exiled” rather than “imprisoned”]
[*5.35] … strive hard [at Jihad] in His way that you may be successful.
[5.82] ……you will find the most violent of people in enmity for those who believe (to be) the Jews [compare with “whenever Jews kindle fire for war, Allah [Muslims] puts it out” (K 005:064)] and those who are polytheists [while they are converted to Islam on pain of death]…
[8.1] Pickthall: …the spoils of war…The spoils of war belong to Allah and the messenger
[*8.5] Even as your Lord caused you to go forth from your house with the truth, though a party of the believers were surely averse;
[*8.7] .. …Allah promised you one of the two (enemy) parties, that it should be yours: Ye wished that the one unarmed should be yours, but Allah willed to justify the Truth according to His words and to cut off the roots of the Unbelievers.
[*8.9] …I will assist you [in Jihad] with a thousand of the angels following one another [see K 008:012]. [8.10] …Allah only gave it as a good news and that your hearts might be at ease thereby; and victory is only from Allah; surely Allah is Mighty, Wise.
[*8.12] ……make firm those who believe. I will cast terror into the hearts of those who disbelieve. Therefore strike off their heads and strike off every fingertip of them.
[*8.15] …when you meet those who disbelieve marching for war, then turn not your backs to them. [*8.16] …for the sake of fighting… [*8.17] So you did not slay them, but it was Allah Who slew them, and you did not smite when you smote (the enemy), but it was Allah Who smote [Allah gets the credit for Jihad]…
[*8.39] Shakir: …fight with them until there is no more persecution and religion should be only for Allah… [8.40] Yusuf Ali: If they [unbelievers] refuse [to stop fighting], be sure that God is your Protector…[8.41] Shakir: …whatever thing [loot] you gain, a fifth of it is for Allah and for the Apostle…the day on which the two parties met [in a Jihad versus anti-Jihad battle]…[*8.42]…Allah might bring about a matter which was to be done, that he who would perish might perish by clear proof [bring success to Muslims engaged in robbing a caravan near Badr against all the odds]…[8.43]…Allah showed them [the Mekkans] to you in your dream as few [fighters]; and if He had shown them [the Mekkans] to you as many [fighters] you would certainly have become weak-hearted [i.e., hearts. See the similar discussion in K 002:249 about how a smaller army can defeat a larger army]…[8.44]…when you met, as few [fighters] in your eyes and He made you to appear little [few fighters] in their eyes, in order that Allah might bring about a matter which was to be done [a Jihad versus anti-Jihad battle brought on by overconfidence in each side]…[*8.45]…when you meet a party [in battle], then be firm…[8.46]…obey Allah and His Apostle and do not quarrel for then you will be weak in hearts [demoralized] and your power [to execute Jihad] will depart…[8.47]…be not like those [Mekkans] who came forth from their homes [to fight Muslims]…[8.48]…when the two parties [Muslims versus Mekkans] came in sight of each other he [Satan] turned upon his heels…
Pickthall: [8.57] If thou come on them in the war, deal with them so as to strike fear in those who are behind them, that haply they may remember. [8.57] Khalifa: When you are betrayed by a group of people, you shall mobilize against them in the same manner. GOD does not love the betrayers. [*8.59] Shakir: …let not those who disbelieve think that they shall come in first; surely they will not escape. [8.60] And prepare against them what force you can and horses tied at the frontier, to frighten thereby the enemy of Allah and your enemy and others besides them, whom you do not know (but) Allah knows them; and whatever thing you will spend in Allah’s way [for Jihad]…
[*8.65] O Prophet! urge the believers to war; if there are twenty patient ones of you they shall overcome two hundred, and if there are a hundred of you they shall overcome a thousand of those who disbelieve, because they are a people who do not understand [in other words, “do not understand totalitarian ideologies like Islam”]. [8.66] …if there are a hundred patient ones of you they shall overcome two hundred, and if there are a thousand they shall overcome two thousand by Allah’s permission… [*8.67] It is not fit for a prophet that he should take captives unless he has fought and triumphed in the land; you desire the frail goods [i.e., ransom money] of this world… [8.68] …ransom… [*8.69] Eat then of the lawful and good (things) which you have acquired in war [war spoils]… [8.70] O Prophet! say to those of the captives [non-Muslims] who are in your hands: If Allah knows anything good in your hearts, He will give to you better than that which has been taken away from you [in Jihad]…[*8.71] Yusuf Ali: But if they have treacherous designs against thee, (O Apostle!)…He [Allah] given (thee) power over them…[*8.72] Yusuf Ali: Those who …fought for the Faith, with their property and their persons, in the cause of God…[8.73] Yusuf Ali: The Unbelievers are protectors, one of another: Unless ye do this, (protect each other), there would be tumult and oppression on earth, and great mischief. [*9.5] …slay the idolaters wherever you find them…take them captives and besiege them and lie in wait for them in every ambush…

[*9.29] Fight those who do not believe in Allah…nor follow the religion of truth, out of those who have been given the Book, until they pay the tax in acknowledgment of superiority and they are in a state of subjection.

[*9.38] …Go forth in Allah’s way [to Jihad]… [*9.39] If you do not go forth [to go on Jihad], He will chastise you with a painful chastisement and bring in your place a people other than you [to go on Jihad]…

[48.20] Allah promised you many acquisitions which you will take, then He hastened on this one for you and held back the hands of men from you, and that it may be a sign for the believers and that He may guide you on a right path. [48.21] Sale: And [he also promiseth you] other [spoils], which ye have not [yet] been able [to take]: But now hath God encompassed them [for you]; and God is almighty. [*48.22] And if those who disbelieve fight with you, they would certainly turn (their) backs, then they would not find any protector or a helper. [48.23] Such [i.e., the Jihad mentioned the previous verse] has been the course [practice] of Allah that has indeed run before, and you shall not find a change in Allah’s course. [48.24] And He [Allah] it is Who held back…your hands from them [in Jihad] in the valley of Mecca…
[49.15] Sale: …true believers …employ their substance and their persons in the defense of God’s true religion…

Pickthall:[*59.5] Whatsoever palm-trees you cut down or left standing on their roots [during a Jihad siege of the Jews at Madina], it was by Allah’s leave, in order that He might confound the evil-livers [Jews]. Apologist’s for Islam will tell you that there is the Greater Jihad (inner spiritual struggle) and that is what it means to most Muslims (a Taqiyya), and the Lesser Jihad (the struggle in the defence and promotion of Islam) which appears to be the main and only emphasis in the Quran as illustrated above by the 164 verses spells out Muhammad’s desire to instil Jihad as one of the Pillars of Islam. There is no question that all Muslims are indoctrinated during their education in Madrassahs worldwide about Islamic Jihad. Jihad is an essential part of Islamic doctrines and a command from Allah to all Muslims:
Qur’an 2:216 “JIHAD (HOLY FIGHTING IN ALLAH’S CAUSE) IS ORDAINED FOR YOU (MUSLIMS), THOUGH YOU DISLIKE IT. But it is possible that you dislike a thing which is good for you, and like a thing which is bad for you. The education of a Muslim begins at a very early age (as soon as children can speak) memorising passages from the Quran, in Arabic, and by rote. It is clear that many of the above verses will be verses to be memorised. The influence of such learning from a very early age will, in effect, make a deep and indelible impression on that young mind. Something that will be etched in their minds for the rest of their lives. The following verses will certainly leave strong memories on all young Muslim minds:

These Impressions instilled at a very early age, during the early formative period of a young impressionable mind followed with constant reminders throughout his adult life in the mosque, will be indelible. Based on the doctrines of the Quran and the Hadiths, most Islamic schools (madrassahs) teach Islam based on the above discussed Islamic precepts. Lessons are based on the principles of:
(1) There is only one Allah (god) and no other.
Qur’an 20:14 “Verily, I am Allah. No Ilah (god) may be worshipped but I. So serve you Me, and perform regular prostration prayer for My praise. Verily the Hour is coming. I am almost hiding it from Myself.”
(2) The Quranic Verse of the Sword 9:5
Qur’an:9:5 “Fight and kill the disbelievers wherever you find them, take them captive, harass them, lie in wait and ambush them using every stratagem of war.”
(3) The Quranic command for Jihad:
Qur’an:2:216 “Jihad (holy fighting in Allah’s Cause) is ordained for you (Muslims), though you dislike it. But it is possible that you dislike a thing which is good for you, and like a thing which is bad for you. But Allah knows, and you know not.” [Another translation reads:] “Warfare is ordained for you.”
These basic principles make Muslims totally “exclusive” and “uncompromising.” To deviate from these Islamic principles is in effect to reject the Word of Allah, and that would be considered blasphemy. Any Muslim who denies or rejects these Islamic tenets will be considered to be an Apostate since he would be, in effect, rejecting the Word of Allah.
Thus Islamic education, even when beginning in the home, is the instilling of Islamic creeds and its exclusivity, superiority, and intolerance to anything that is different to the orthodox ideology of Islam. This education is evidenced in the curricula and the teaching of Islam in Madrassahs and other Islamic schools.
Following such care in instilling basic Islamic ideology for every Muslim child, it is not surprising that every Muslim will be firmly convinced of their faith having been handed down from Allah. For to be anything but an orthodox Muslim, observing the 5 (or 6) Pillars of Islam, and total subservience to Allah would be unthinkable.
The following data has been compiled by America’s ( USA’s) department of Justice and will be accepted as reliable informantion. It is to illustrate that Islam has targetted America as an enemy of Islam, despite continuous protestations from the American (citizens) who are apologist’s of Islam insisting that most Muslims are peace loving peoples and have been unfairly demonised. If they be referring to some of the “nominal Muslim” (akin to nominal Christians) that they met when on holiday to the Middle East then it could be so, but these exceptions do not represent the regular “orthodox Muslims” of this world who swear by the 5 or 6 pillars of Islam and are prepared to die in the defence of Islam/Allah. This has been thoroughly discussed in my other articles.
I begin with a direct quote from an Iranian leader who believes and preaches that ISLAM WILL RULE THE WORLD. These are not the words of a crank, but of a serious orthodox Shia Muslim. I am also more than convinced that the Sunni Muslims have a similar vision of Islam. No Muslim has ever been heard to challenge the words of Mahmoud Ahmadinejad when he declared that Islam will rule the world. Basically this has been the underlining theme of Islam since the 7th century and has never altered and will never alter. Any Muslim who does not accept the commands of Allah as stated by the verses below are blasphemers and are not of the fold of Islam.

Islam must prepare to rule the world, Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad told a crowd of theological students in Iran’s holy city of Qom, according to a report.
“We must believe in the fact that Islam is not confined to geographical borders, ethnic groups and nations. It’s a universal ideology that leads the world to justice,” Ahmadinejad said Jan. 5, according to Mehran Riazaty, a former Iran analyst for the Central Command of the Coalition Forces in Baghdad.
Ahmadinejad, who has drawn global attention recently for his contention the Holocaust was a “myth,” said: “We don’t shy away from declaring that Islam is ready to rule the world.”
Riazaty, in a post on the website Regime Change Iran, said the Iranian president emphasized his current theme that the return of the Shiite messiah, the Mahdi, is not far away, and Muslims must prepare for it.
According to Shiites, the 12th imam disappeared as a child in the year 941. When he returns, they believe, he will reign on earth for seven years, before bringing about a final judgment and the end of the world.
Ahmadinejad is urging Iranians to prepare for the coming of the Mahdi by turning the country into a mighty and advanced Islamic society and by avoiding the corruption and excesses of the West.
“We must prepare ourselves to rule the world and the only way to do that is to put forth views on the basis of the Expectation of the Return,” Ahmadinejad said. “If we work on the basis of the Expectation of the Return [of the Mahdi], all the affairs of our nation will be streamlined and the administration of the country will become easier.”
Riazaty pointed out that Iran’s speaker of parliament, Mehdi Kahrubi, said Saturday that some people working closely with Ahmadinejad believe the Mahdi probably will return in the next two years…”

Make no mistake. Muslims seek to dominate the world.
I’m not simply using hyperbole in that statement or exaggerating the threat that Islam poses to freedom and secular choices. Various cults of Islam are devout in their intent to spread their cults to all of humanity and publicly state these intents. Moreover, it is written in their mythology, which they accept as unquestioning truth, that Muslims should seek to share their delusion with the entire world.
Mawlana Abul Alla Mawdudi, the founder of Pakistan’s fundamentalist movement, said:
Islam is not a normal religion like the other religions in the world, and Muslim nations are not like normal nations. Muslim nations are very special because they have a command from Allah to rule the entire world and to be over every nation in the world. Islam is a revolutionary faith that comes to destroy any government made by man. Islam doesn’t look for a nation to be in better condition than another nation. Islam doesn’t care about land or who owns the land. The goal of Islam is to rule the entire world and submit all of mankind to the faith of Islam. Any nation or power in this world that tries to get in the way of that goal Islam will fight and destroy. In order for Islam to fulfill that goal, Islam can use every power available every way it can be used to bring worldwide revolution. This is jihad.
Of course, so-called moderate Muslims will object and say that “jihad” simply means “struggle” and that each Muslim “struggles” to bring peace, harmony, etc. Unfortunately, theirs is a voice, even if it is a majority, that isn’t heard nor is it loud. It is, after all, the Koran itself that teaches what jihad is truly about in passages like those found in Surah 8:
When you fight with disbelievers, do not retreat. Those who do will go to hell (8:15-16); those that the Muslims killed were not really killed by them. It was Allah who did the killing (8:17); Fight them until persecution is no more, and religion is for Allah (8:39); and, don’t let the disbelievers think they can escape. They are your enemy and the enemy of Allah (8:59-60).
Passages like these are what inform the violent interpretations of “jihad” with Muslims; but what of global domination? What justifies this evangelism of terror in the eyes of the Muslim? Further looks at Koranic verses is revealing:
Fight in the cause of Allah those who fight you but do not transgress limits…And slay them wherever ye catch them. And turn them out from where they have turned you out; for persecution is worse than slaughter; But fight them not at the sacred Mosque unless they first fight you there; But if they fight you, slay them. Such is the reward of those who reject faith. But if they cease, Allah is oft-forgiving, Most Merciful. And fight them on until there is no more persecution. And the religion becomes Allah’s. But if they cease, Let there be no hostility except to those who practice oppression (2:190-3)
Therefore let those fight in the way of Allah, who sell this world’s life for the hereafter; and whoever fights in the way of Allah, then be he slain or be he victorious, We shall grant him a mighty reward (4:74).
And when the sacred months are passed, kill those who join other gods with God wherever ye shall find them; and seize them, besiege them, and lay wait for them with every kind of ambush: but if they shall convert, and observe prayer, and pay the obligatory alms, then let them go their way, for God is gracious, merciful (9:5)
Nor is there any encouragement within the Koran to tolerate those that don’t accept the delusion of Islam:
Thou seest many of them making friends with those who disbelieve. Surely ill for them is that which they themselves send on before them (5:80).
Jihad explains the few extremists that have “martyred” themselves by flying planes into skyscrapers, detonating themselves on trains, or those caught before they could detonate bombs in the United States and Europe. But the jihad that threatens to introduce Islam in staggering numbers across Europe is far more subtle than a suicide bomber. This jihad is playing on secular ideals and the cry for tolerance on the left in the wake of the more violent versions of jihad. The subtle version seeks to introduce Muslim practices and culture in the secular nations of Europe by changing laws and policies making it difficult for opposition to question, criticize or restrict Muslims. On the surface, it seems a good thing not to restrict someone based solely on their religious beliefs. But, looking a bit deeper, one sees more than a mere longing for religious equality. A recent outcry in the United States by the Sikh American Legal Defense and Education Fund (SALDEF) complains of new TSA requirements at airports to search large head-coverings that include cowboy hats, straw hats, turbans and berets. In particular, TSA security personnel can now pat down these types of headgear even if the metal detectors didn’t alert in order to check for non-metallic, dangerous items.
Pressure against government agencies in the United States has less impact, however, than in Europe, where Muslims have made it difficult to be critical or restrictive on their religious superstitions without being “hateful” or “discriminatory.” In Scotland, doctors and nurses at a hospital have been instructed not to eat in front of Muslim workers during Ramadan. Food trolleys are to be moved away from their sight and Muslim workers are to be given time to pray. This is an example of religious tolerance gone too far, but that isn’t the furthest reaches of what is desired by Muslims in Britain. Muslims there wanted a law passed that would essentially make it a crime to criticize or blaspheme Islam. What passed was apparently a “watered down” version which restricts “threatening” comments designed to incite others against a religious group. I suppose referring to Islam as a delusion responsible for violence and terrorism would ostensibly qualify as an illegal comment if made in public.
Islam is a presence in Europe that uses violence to influence both Muslims and non-Muslims. In France, radical Islam is being blamed for violence in hospitals –physicians have been assaulted by men for “touching” Muslim women during the course of examinations and Muslim men are demanding “virginity certificates” for young girls. Muslims are also attacking the police in Muslim neighbourhoods with stones and Molotov cocktails. For his efforts in documenting the nature of Muslim violence against Muslim women, Theo Van Gogh paid with his life. Upon completion of the 10 minute film, Van Gogh received death threats. On Nov. 2, 2004, the threats were carried out by a Muslim, deluded by superstitions of jihad and his holy duty to his god. In 2006, riots broke out across the Muslim world in response to cartoons depicting Mohammed published in a Danish newspaper. People died. Over cartoons. In an effort to appease Muslims, much has been done by non-Muslims in the West to present an air of tolerance, which is just what Muslims want. Tolerance is a step towards acceptance. Once Islam becomes as accepted as any other religious superstition, there would be less opposition to conversion. And in the largely secular Europe, Islam might well fill a void and experience little real opposition compared to that in the United States.
But it’s interesting to note that the very non-Muslims (theists and atheists alike) who called for “respect” and “tolerance” for Islam in the wake of the cartoon riots had little to say about the riots that ensued. Didn’t they notice that this “religion of peace” was both threatening and carrying out violence, primarily because some of the cartoons they objected to depicted Islam as violent? The irony is deep.
Islam expects tolerance for their delusions. The Koran dictates that those unbelievers that accept them can live, particularly if they convert. Those that refuse to accept them must die.”

Although most of the territory administered by the Ottoman Empire was taken over by the British during the course of World War I, the Islamic ideology was not dealt a death-blow, but went underground…….
Do all Muslims believe in the insidious multi-level jihad? Absolutely! They are well aware that the ultimate goal of Islam, in obedience to Allah, is world domination. Most however, are not willing to be part of the militant terrorist and shahid forces. In fact, the majority of Muslims are embarrassed by suicide bombers, and the destructive terrorist activities. They would rather bring in world wide Islamic rule through peaceful means, such as through infiltration and winning converts. So, how do we fight an ideology of death, destruction, disruption, and hate? The truth is, when such an enemy hides among the population, and attacks the innocent and unsuspecting, it is next thing to impossible. We can set up security cameras, send out security forces, check bags, ask questions, use electronics, but this enemy wears the best and most effective camouflage — they look normal…….
The timing of these diatribes against Jews, and against the United States and Britain, are not coincidence, but rather the Islamic community honestly believes they are soon to take over the entire world.The scary thing is, they are right! They will soon take over under the regime of the coming Man of Sin……
Islam is on the move toward world domination, and it is time the world woke up to the reality before it is too late! The Islamic terrorists are well on the way to taking over in the Middle East, especially in Gaza, which, if all goes to their plan, is to become a haven for several powerful terrorist organizations. The Essence of Islam is JIHAD
Whether Sunni Muslims recognise it as the 6th Pillar of Islam or not, Sunnis fully accept Quran 2:216 without question or hesitation. Hence, Jihad is the “Essence” of Islam for Jihad is their driving force, it is their emblem of solidarity and their sole purpose of unity for serving the interests of Islam and Allah. The following time line of the modern era shows the continuous jihadist activities since the time of Muhammad in the 7th century, unabated. And it will continue without modification as no one on earth has the authority to modify the word or commands of Allah as recorded in the Qur’an. This is what most people do not appreciate that Islam is not a religion like other religions, as it must be The Only Religion, and that no one on earth may modify or alter the word of Allah as shown in the Quran.
Muslims will never recognise themselves as “terrorists or suicide bombers” nor identify any Muslim as such a person, but only as soldiers and Jihadists and martyrs of Allah doing their duty for the advancement and defence of Islam. They believe that they righteous and pious in bidding Allah’s commands. That is why their faith is so strong and they fear not death in the defence of Islam, since the ultimate sacrifice for a Muslim is to be a Shahid(martyr) for Allah thus assuring him a place in Paradise (Heaven) with Allah. As no other but Allah may be worshipped except Allah himself, all others are considered kafirs and thus enemies of Allah and deserve to be exterminated. Christians erroneously label the Jihadists as ” terrorists,” but not in the eyes of Islam who consider them martyrs. Muslims also condemn and disassociate themselves from terrorists, but the West have used that word for “political correctness.” Christians, on the other hand, have lost their fervour for their faith and are not bothered even if Christianity is demonised. Even the Christian hierarchy, in Britain, are so liberal with their precepts that they have lost their purpose and direction and are in fact splitting their Bishops and congregation apart. We must all take stock of this disintegration of Christian resoluteness for we may yet witness the defeat of our civilisation as we know it today.

A following time line of modern Islamic brutality and anger against non-Muslims since 1968 shows a worrying trend. Below is an abbreviation of that time line. Read it and try to reason the fundamental cause.
In July 1968, Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) hijacked Israeli El Al Airplanes.
In 1970, Palestinian Liberation Organization (PLO) killers attacked bus in West Bank, killing Barbara Ertle of Michigan and wounding two others from the US.
In March 1970, PFLP lodged rockets at US Embassy, Beirut, as well as the American Insurance Company, Bank of America and John F. Kennedy library.
In September 1970, PFLP murderers took hold of four airliners, three of which were blown up.
In March 1972, PFLP engaged the Japanese Red Army to machine-gun and grenade attack Israel’s main airport. Twenty-six were slain, 78 wounded, many from the US.
In September 1972, Arab killers attacked Olympic Village, Munich, Germany, kidnapping nine Israelis and slaying two others. A grenade slaughtered athletes while others were trying to rescue them. A German policeman is slain. Jews killed totaled eleven.
In 1973, Back September Muslim killers slew US ambassador, Cleo A. Noel, and charge d’affaires and a Belgian diplomat.
In June 1976, Arab killers hijacked an Air France flight from Tel Aviv.
In August 1976, PFLP attacked Israel’s main airline, El Al. Four were slain, 20 injured.
In March 1977, Muslim murderers took 134 hostages near the White House. One is slain, 12 wounded, in the seizing of the Islamic Center, the international headquarters of B’nai Brith and Washington’s City Hall.
In February 1979, the US ambassador to Afghanistan is slain by Afghan militia.
In November 1979, Muslims take over US Embassy in Tehran, Iran; 66 diplomats are held hostage. Also, in that month the US Embassy in Islamabad, Pakistan, is taken by Muslim murderers. The building is set ablaze, killing four.
In June 1981, Muslim killers slay Coptics in their burnt out homes in Egypt. Eighty-one Coptics died with more than a hundred gravely wounded. Eighty houses were destroyed and looted.
In the same month, Anwar Sadat, Egyptian President, was slain by members of the Takfir Wal-Hajira sect. Eight others were murdered at Sadat’s reviewing stand.
In January 1982, Lebanese killers murder American military attache Lt. Col. Charles R. Ray as he leaves his apartment.
In August 1982, PLO killers slay two from the US who were eating out at a Jewish restaurant in Paris.
In the same month, Lebanese murderers slew an American embassy employee by releasing a bomb under his car.
In September 1982, Muslim killers slew Lebanese Prime Minister Bashir Gemayel via a car bomb in Beirut.
In March 1983, five Marines are slain by Islamic Jihad and Al-Amal militia.
In April 1983, an Islamic suicide car-bomber kills 63 at the US Embassy in Beirut. Inured: 120. Islamic Jihad claimed planners of the attack.

In September 1986, Muslim killers hijacked Pan Am 747, leaving 20 slain.
In October 1986, an American was murdered by a grenade leveled by Fatah at the Western Wall, Jerusalem.
In February 1989, bookstores in Berkeley, CA were bombed by Muslims in protest of Salman Rushdie’s “The Satanic Verses.”
In March 1989, US Navy Captain Will C. Rogers’ wife is attacked by a car bomb.
In October 1991, Ankara, Turkey, a US soldier is slain and his wife wounded by Turkish Islamic Jihad.

In June 1996, a fuel truck exploded near Dharan, Saudi Arabia with 19 Americans slain by Husbollah.
In August 1996, French Archbishop of Oran’s home was bombed, slaying him and his chauffeur. The Algerian Armed Islamic Group did it.
In December 1996, a Paris subway train was exploded, killing four, wounding 86.
In February 1997, a dozen Coptic Christians are killed while worship in their Abu Quorcas church.
In the same month, an Islamic teacher fired at tourists at the Empire State Building New York, NY. A Danish national was killed, visitors were wounded.
In November 1997, Islamics slew four American auditors for Union Texas Petroleum Company and their Pakistani driver in Karachi. The Islamic Inqilabi Council and the Aimal Secret Committee said they did it.
In the same month, 58 were slain by murderers at the Hatshepsut’s Temple, Egypt.
In August 1998, bombs bases the US embassies in Nairobi, Kenya, and Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. Blasts slew 247 in Nairobi and 10 in Dar es Salaam, more then 5000 wounded.
In November 1999, rockets fired at US Information Services cultural center and UN offices in Islamabad, Pakistan, wounded Pakistani guard.
In January 2000, Coptic Christians’ funeral in El-Kosheh, Egypt, due to Muslim murderers’ attack.
In October 2000, USS Cole’s port side view shows damage via Muslim attack via bomb explosion during refueling in Aden, Yemen. Seventeen sailors were slain, 30 wounded. Bin Laden: the ship sailed “to its doom. . .(along a course of ) false arrogance, self-conceit, and strength.”
In December 2000, Muslim on his way to bomb Los Angeles Airport is arrested at US / Canadian border. He has over 100 pounds of explosives in his vehicle. Algerian Ahmed Ressam informs authorities that he was schooled in a camp in Afghanistan, the latter overseen by bin Laden.
On September 11, 2001, Islamic killers international highjack planes, then crash into the World Trade Center, New York, killing more than 5000. Soon thereafter another hijacked plane smashes into the Pentagon. Sixty-four passengers and crew as well as 125 military and civilian personnel were slain with 80 wounded. Another hijacked plane with 44 onboard crashed into Shanksville PA field. All were slain by Arab Islamic zealots.
In October 2001, Muslim murderers slay worshipers in Tomata Indonesian church.
In the same month, Muslim killers shoot into church, slaying 18, in Bahawalpur, Model Town, Pakistan.
In December 2001, Muslim murderers slay Christian community, killing five, in Vwang, Nigeria.
In January 2002, Daniel Pearl, Wall Street Journal reporter, was kidnapped by Muslim murderers in Karachi. He was later slain.

In April 2002 in Tunisia, Islamic suicide bombers kills 26 in historic synagogue. Islamic Army for the Liberation of the Holy Sites says they did it.

In July 2004 in Jakarta Indonesia, a priest was slain and four wounded when gunmen attacked their church. It was near the site where over 2000 Christians have been slain by Muslims. 
EPILOGUE: Verification of JIHAD IN THE HADITH
While non-Muslims often treat the Qur’an as if it were the only Islamic text, the literature of Islam is vast and spans many centuries. Next to the Qur’an in importance is the Hadith, which refers to collections of traditions about what Muhammad said, what he taught, and what he did. These collections are also called Sunna or “tradition”; hence the term Sunni Muslims, or “traditional” Muslims. Opposed to them are the Shi’ites, who broke away originally because of a dispute over succession to the caliphate, and who do not grant the same authority to the Hadith. (The proportion of Sunni Muslims to Shi’ites is roughly 85% – 15%.)Muslims naturally felt a need to preserve traditions about the Prophet from the time of the earliest witnesses. However, over the years since Muhammad’s death some of these traditions became embellished and others were fabricated. In the ninth century a number of Islamic scholars undertook the task of sifting the genuine traditions from the spurious and of gathering the former in written collections. In Sunni Islam six of these collection in particular are considered “sahih” (reliable). These “sahih sittah” (reliable collections) are:Sahih Bukhari, compiled by the Imam Muhammad ibn-Ismail al-Bukhari (810-70).Sahih Muslim, compiled by Muslim ibn Alhajjaj al-Qushayri (821-975). Sunan abu Dawud, compiled by Abu Dawud as-Sijistani (d. 888).Sunan ibn Majah, compiled by Muhammad ibn Majah (d. 896). Sunan At-Tirmidhi, compiled by Abi ‘Eisaa Muhammad At-Tirmidhi (824-893).Sunan An-Nasai, compiled by Ahmad ibn Shu’ayb an-Nasai (d.915).All these collections of hadith are highly respected in the Sunni tradition, but the first two even more than the others, and so they are given the additional specific designation of sahih. And of these two, Sahih Bukhari is considered the most important and most reliable. Those ahadith occurring in both the Bukhari and Muslim collections have the highest status of all.
*****There is only One Jihad. [The Lesser Jihad is a false Hadith]
These compilations of hadith are voluminous, and they have a lot to say about jihad. However, before going to these classic collections, we should begin by looking at one hadith that is very often quoted to demonstrate a non-violent meaning of jihad:Upon his return from battle Muhammad said, “We have returned from the lesser jihad to the greater jihad (i.e. the struggle against the evil of one’s soul).” 
This is very often cited as a proof-text for the “real” meaning of jihad being inward, spiritual struggle. But there are two problems:
1. Even a “lesser” jihad is still jihad and thus a duty and a virtue.
2. Muhammad never made such a statement.The hadith in which Muhammad is said to speak of “greater” vs. “lesser” jihad is of doubtful authenticity. It does not appear in any of the six collections of the sahih sittah. In fact, a number of scholars maintain that this hadith is a forgery. One scholar analyses this hadith and considers a number of factors, such as chain of transmission and other more reliable, contradictory ahadith. He quotes one authority:
“There is a Hadith related by a group of people which states that the Prophet (peace be upon him) said after the battle of Tabuk: “We have returned from Jihad Asghar [lesser jihad] to Jihad Akbar [greater jihad].’
***This hadith has no source, nobody whomsoever in the field of Islamic Knowledge has narrated it. Jihad against the disbelievers is the most noble of actions, and moreover it is the most important action for the sake of mankind.”And so after a meticulous examination of sources the article comes to a decision:On the basis of the above statements we can conclude by saying, that the evidence used as proof of the basis for establishing that Jihad against disbelievers on the battlefield is Jihad Asghar [lesser jihad] and Jihad against the desires and Shaitaan [Satan, the devil] is Jihad Akbar [greater jihad], are weak if not ***false Hadith.
One of the counter-hadith with a better chain of transmission (and the author quotes others as well) goes like this:
***A man asked [the Prophet]: “….and what is Jihad? He [peace be upon him] replied: “You fight against the disbelievers when you meet them (on the battlefield).” He asked again: “What kind of Jihad is the highest?” He [peace be upon him] replied: “The person who is killed whilst spilling the last of his blood.”This seems to leave little doubt as to how Muhammad understood Jihad. But let us not make the case on just one example. there are many ahadith on Jihad, and they make its meaning quite clear. First and foremost, Jihad meant combat on the battlefield, and specifically against non-Muslims.
JIHAD IS FIGHTING THE NON-BELIEVER
The following sequence of ahadith will clarify this. Many of these are extremely well attested, occurring multiple times in the most trusted collections, the Sahih Bukhari and Sahih Muslim. I will cite some of these multiple attestations just to show the high status of the ahadith. (The numbering of ahadith may vary in different editions. In all of the following quotations I have used the Hadith database of the Muslim Students’ Association of the University of Southern California. For purposes of readability I do not quote in full the isnad (chain of attribution) of each hadith, but these are considered important to establishing authenticity and are included in the original sources.)***Reading through the hadith on the subject of Jihad, what we do not find is an exclusive emphasis on self-defence or ***on struggling with one’s desires.
Jihad is physical combat, not just for self- defence but for the purpose of spreading Islam, and there is no greater virtue: I asked the Prophet, “What is the best deed?” He replied, “To believe in allah and to fight for his cause.” (Sahih Bukhari, 3:46:694, Sahih Muslim, 1:149)
It has been narrated on the authority of Abu Sa’id Khudri that the Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him) said (to him): Abu Sa’id, whoever cheerfully accepts Allah as his Lord, Islam as his religion and Muhammad as his Apostle is necessarily entitled to enter Paradise. He (abu Sa’id) wondered at it and said: Messenger of Allah, repeat it for me. He (the Messenger of Allah)did that and said: There is another act which elevates the position of a man in Paradise to a grade one hundred (higher), and the elevation between one grade and the other is equal to the height of the heaven from the earth. He (Abu Sa’id) said: What is that act? He replied: Jihad in the way of Allah! Jihad in the way of Allah! (Sahih Muslim, 20:4645)
***The true purpose of Jihad, to spread the Muslim faith, is spelled out explicitly: Allah’s Apostle said: “I have been ordered (by Allah) to fight against the people until they testify that none has the right to be worshipped by Allah and that Muhammad is Allah’s Apostle, and offer the prayers perfectly and give the obligatory charity, so if they perform that, then they save their lives and property from me except for Islamic laws and then their reckoning (accounts) will be done by Allah.” (Sahih Bukhari 1:2:24 also 4:52:196)
It is reported on the auuthority of Abu Huraira that he heard the Messenger of Allah say: I have been commanded to fight against people, till they testify to the fact that there is no god but Allah, and believe in me (that) I am the messenger (from the Lord) and in all that I have brought. And when they do it, their blood and riches are guaranteed protection on my behalf except where it is justified by law, and their affairs rest with Allah. (Sahih Muslim, 1:31 also 1;130, 1:32, 1:33)The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: I am commanded to fight with men till they testify that there is no god but Allah, and that Muhammad is His servant and His Apostle, face our qiblah(direction of prayer), eat what we slaughter, and pray like us. When they do that, their life and property are unlawful for us except what is due to them. they will have the same rights as the Muslims have, and have the same responsibilities as the Muslims have. (Sunan Abu Dawud,14:2635)
A man came to the Prophet and asked, “A man fights for war booty; another fights for fame and a third fights for showing off; which of them fights in Allah’s Cause?” The Prophet said, “He who fights that Allah’s Word (i.e.Islam) should be superior, fights in Allah’s Cause.” (Sahih Bukhari, 4:52:65 also 9:93:550 and Sahih Muslim, 20:4684, 20:4685, 20:4686, 20:4687)
It is perhaps significant that whose who never tire of quoting the Qur’an on “There is no compulsion in religion” also never mention these ahadith.The rewards of fighting in Jihad are tremendous, not to be compared with anything else:The Prophet said, “A single endeavour (of fighting) in Allah’s Cause in the forenoon or in the afternoon is better than the world and whatever is in it.” (Sahih Bukhari, 4:52:50 also 4:52:51, 4:52:52, and Sahih Muslim, 20:4643)Allah’s Apostle said, “Allah guarantees him who strives in His Cause and whose motivation for going out is nothing but Jihad in His Cause and belief in His Word, that He will admit him into Paradise (if martyred) or bring him back to his dwelling place, whence he has come out, with what he gains of reward and booty.” (Sahih Bukhari, 4:53:352 also 9:93:549, 9:93:555 and 1:2:35 which adds: “…and I would have loved to be martyred in Allah’s cause and then made alive, and then martyred and then made alive, and then again martyred in his cause.”)It has been narrated on the authority of Abu Huraira who said: Allah has undertaken to provide for one who leaves his home (only) to fight for His cause and to affirm the truth of His word; Allah will either admit him to Paradise or will bring him back home from where he had come out, with his reward and booty. (Sahih Muslim, 20:4628)
Many ahadith tell us that the surest way to Paradise is to fight in Jihad. Here are just a couple more:Allah’s Apostle said, “Know that Paradise is under the shades of swords.” (Sahih Bukhari, 4,52:73 also 4:52:210 and Sahih Muslim, 20:4681)It has been reported on the authority of Jabir that a man said: Messenger of Allah, where shall I be if I am killed? He replied: in Paradise. The man threw away the dates he had in his hand and fought until he was killed (i.e. he did not wait until he could finish the dates). (Sahih Muslim, 20:4678)
THE HIGH ESTEEM OF MARTYRDOM IN ISLAM
This elevation of Jihad to the highest of virtues makes martyrdom something especially to be prized. There are many, many ahadith that extol and encourage martyrdom.It has been narrated on the authority of Masruq who said: We asked ‘Abdullah about the Qur’anic verse: “Think not of those who are slain in Allah’s way as dead. Nay, they are alive, finding their sustenance in the presence of their Lord.” (Qur’an 3:169). He said: We asked the meaning of the verse (from the Holy Prophet) who said: The souls of the martyrs live in the bodies of green birds who have their nests in Chandeliers hung from the throne of the Almighty. They eat the fruits of Paradise from wherever they like and then nestle in these chandeliers. (Sahih Muslim, 20:4651) There is of course the very celebrated tradition that martyrs from Jihad go immediately to Paradise where they are rewarded with 72 virgins. The following verses in the Qur’an provide the foundation, although the number of virgins is not specified:Let those (who) fight in the cause of Allah who sell the life of this world for the hereafter, To him who fighteth in the cause of Allah, – whether he is slain or gets victory – Soon shall We give him a reward of great (value). (4:74) As to the Righteous (they will be) in a position of Security, among Gardens and Springs; dressed in fine silk and in rich brocade, they will face each other; So; and We shall join them to Companions (virgins) with beautiful, big, and lustrous eyes. (44:51-54)As to the Righteous, they will be in Gardens, and in Happiness, Enjoying the (Bliss) which their Lord hath bestowed on them, and their Lord shall deliver them from the Penalty of the Fire. (To them will be said:) “Eat and drink ye, with profit and health, because of your (good) deeds.” They will recline (with ease) on thrones (of dignity) arranged in ranks; and We shall join them to Companions, with beautiful, big, and lustrous eyes. (52:17-20)They will recline on Carpets, whose inner linings will be of rich brocade: the Fruit of the Gardens will be near (and easy of reach.) Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? In them will be (Maidens). chaste, restraining their glances, whom no man of Jinn before him has touched. (55:54-59, also 55:70-74)And on thrones (of dignity), raised high. We have created (their Companions) of special creation. And made them virgin – pure (and undefiled, – Beloved (by nature), equal in age, – For the Companions of the Right Hand. (56:34-38) Verily for the Righteous there will be a fulfilment of (the heart’s) desires; Gardens enclosed, and grapevines; and voluptuous women of equal age; and a cup full (to the brim. (78:31-34)And so from the Qur’an itself we see that sex is a reward for the faithful in Paradise.
These “companions” are the houris of renown, beautiful young maidens. They will be virgins, “whom no man or Jinn before them has touched.” We get the number 72 by way of hadith. In the Sunan At-Tirmidhi, which is one of the six basic collections, we find the following: The Prophet Muhammad was heard saying: “The smallest reward for the people of Paradise is an abode where there are 80,000 servants and 72 wives, over which stands a dome decorated with pearls, aquamarine, and ruby, as wide as the distance from Al-Jabiyyah (a Damascus suburb) to Sana’a (Yemen)” (Sunan At-Tirmidhi, 4:2:2687)
There has been some debate on whether only martyrs get the 72 virgins or whether everyone (male) in Paradise gets them. However, the tradition of the virgins has been used often and effectively as an inducement to martyrdom. Martyrdom is so highly valued that the truly devoted Muslim would Wish to return to earth many times in order to repeat the experience.The Prophet said, “Nobody who dies and finds good from Allah (in the Hereafter) would wish to come back to this world even if he were given the whole world and whatever is in it, except the martyr who, on seeing the superiority of martyrdom, would like to come back to the world and get killed again (in Allah’s cause.)” (Sahih Bukhari 4:52:53)The Prophet said, “By Him in Whose Hands my life is! Were it not for some men amongst the believers who dislike to be left behind me and whom I cannot provide with means of conveyance, I would certainly never remain behind any Sariya’ (army-unit) setting out in Allah’s Cause and then get resurrected and then get martyred, and then get resurrected again and then get martyred and then get martyred, and then get resurrected again and then get martyred. (Sahih Bukhari, 4:52:54)The Prophet said, “Nobody who enters Paradise likes to to back to the world even if he got everything on earth, except a Muhadid who wishes to return to the world so that he may be martryed ten times because of the dignity he receives. (from Allah)” Narrated Al-Mughira bin Shu’ba: Our Prophet told us about the message of our Lord that “Whoever amongst us is killed will go to Paradise.” Umar asked the Prophet, “Is it not true that our men who are killed will go to Paradise and theirs (i.e. those of the Pagans) will go to the (Hell) fire?” The Prophet said, “Yes.” (Sahih Bukhari, 4:52:72 also Sahih Muslim, 20:4635)It is praiseworthy both to seek death as a martyr and to love it: Apostle of Allah ( peace be upon him) said: If anyone fights in Allah’s path as long as the time between two milking’s of a She-camel, Paradise will be assured for him. If anyone sincerely asks Allah for being killed and then dies or is killed, there will be a reward of a martyr for him. (Sunan Abu Dawud, 14:2535) It has been narrated on the authority of Abu Huraira who said: I heard the Messenger of Allah( (may peace be upon him) say, “By the Being in Whose Hand is my life, I love that I should be killed in the way of Allah; then I should be brought back to life and be killed again in His way.” (Sahih Muslim, 20:4631 also 20:4626)I love that I should be killed in the way of Allah: the Prophet’s wish for death has become the battle cry of today’s terrorists. Is there any wonder why so many become suicide killers? It is not an act of desperation. It is an expression of the passion that has motivated Jihad fighters ever since the time of Muhammad.
We in the West cannot understand it, so we try to psychoanalyse it, or ask obsessively, “Why do they hate us?” The answer to why so many choose death is right here in the earliest sources. And it is not entirely unique. Perhaps many Westerners can understand it better if they recall how the early Christian Martyrs desired so ardently to die for Christ, and sought out such a death as a way of securing eternal bliss. the urge to become a martyr through sacrificing one’s life to a higher cause is not as unique, foreign, or inexplicable as we might wish to believe.
Here are the words of St. Ignatius of Antioch, a Christian martyr of the early second century, from a letter he wrote to discourage others from interfering in his death:”I am writing to all the churches to let it be known that I will gladly die for God if only you do not stand in my way. I plead with you: show me no untimely kindness. Let me be food for the wild beasts, for they are my way to God. I am God’s wheat and bread. Pray to Christ for me that the animals will be the means of making me a sacrificial victim for God.”So perhaps it would not surprise us that a religious vision can serve as a motivation for desiring and seeking death. But there is one big difference between the Christian and Muslim martyrs.Christian martyrdom did not require death in combat against non-believers.Indeed, not to desire death in battle against the infidel is considered shameful (in Islam): It has been narrated on the authority of Abu Huraira that the Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him) said: One who died but did not fight in the way of Allah nor did he express any desire (or determination) for Jihad died the death of a hypocrite. (Sahih Muslim, 20:4696)
MARTYRDOM VS SUICIDE IN ISLAM
But, some object, doesn’t Islam forbid suicide? How can being a suicide bomber be considered Islamic?Let’s look at the basis in the Qur’an for the prohibition against suicide: O ye who believe! Eat not up your property among yourselves in vanities: But let there be amongst you Traffic and trade by mutual good-will: Nor kill (or destroy) yourselves: for verily Allah hath been to you Most Merciful! If any do that in rancour and injustice,- soon shall We cast them into the Fire: And easy it is for Allah (4:29-30)
Although these verses are often cited to show that the Qur’an forbids suicide, the wording is ambiguous. Most translations say “Do no kill each other.” and that most likely is the original meaning. In any event, there is an escape clause. The prohibition holds, “if nay do that in rancour and injustice.” The mujahid always believes he is fighting for justice!***The prohibition against suicide come not from the Qur’an but from the hadith: If somebody commits suicide with anything in the world, he will be tortured with that very thing on the Day of Resurrection. (Sahih Bukhari, 8:73:73 also 2:23:445, 2:23:446. 8:73:126, 8:78:647)
But does this apply to someone who kills himself for the purpose of fighting jihad?Many Islamic authorities say no. They make a distinction between suicide and martyrdom. The motivation for each is entirely different. And so one scholar gleans the classical Islamic sources for evidence that one may seek martyrdom by fighting even when one knows one is going to die. His conclusions: It is important to know that suicide is forbidden because of its evil objectives; such as impatience, desperation or any other bad and evil objects….. On the other hand, the one who contributes his life to the cause of Allah, Islam and Muslims, his doing is sacrificial; he gives his life away for Islam and Muslims, which is the highest sacrifice.
Daniel Pipes, a scholar of Islamic history, affirms this conclusion: Islamists consider suicide as not just legitimate but highly commendable when undertaken for reasons of jihad (sacred war). Going into war knowing with certainty that one will die, they argue, is not suicide (intihar) but martyrdom (istishhad), a much-praised form of self-sacrifice in the path of Allah, a way to win the eternal affection of the houris in paradise. A leading Islamist authority, Sheikh Yusuf al-Qaradawi, recently explained the distinction this way: attacks on enemies are not suicide operations but “heroic martyrdom operations” in which the kamikazes act not “out of hopelessness and despair but are driven by an overwhelming desire to cast terror and fear into the hearts of the oppressors.” In other words, Islamists find suicide for personal reasons abominable, suicide for jihad admirable. The earliest sources express both the prohibition on suicide and the encouragement to fight to the death in a sacred cause. In fact, the latter receives far more emphasis in the classical sources. Undeniably, it has inspired Muslim jihad fighters over many centuries to risk their lives for the cause of advancing Muslim rule.
Today some Islamic authorities may emphasise the forbidding of suicide, and some may emphasise the virtue of martyrdom. Which will ultimately prevail can be decided only within Islam itself. But one cannot say that suicide fighting is by its very nature un-Islamic. In fact, it is not new. In the same article Daniel Pipes notes the existence of Jihad suicide nearly a thousand years ago:Jihad suicide has been around for a millennium. The Assassins, a fanatical religious sect that flourished in the twelfth century developed Jihad suicide into a powerful tool of war that succeeded in killing dozens of leaders and cast a long shadow over the region’s politics for decades. And certainly there is no prohibition on terrorism when suicide is not involved. When seen as as sacred struggle against non-believers, terrorism by any means becomes a virtue, whether or not one knows one’s life will be forfeit. As Ibn Warrag states, when the two values collide, martyrdom trumps suicide: Those who blow themselves up almost daily in Israel and those who died on September 11 were dying in the noblest of all causes, Jihad, which is an incumbent religious duty established in the Koran and in the Traditions as a divine institution, and enjoined for the purpose of advancing Islam. While suicide is forbidden, martyrdom is everywhere praised, welcomed and urged.Recall the words of the hadith cited earlier: “If anyone sincerely asks Allah for being killed and then dies or is killed, there will be a reward of a martyr for him.” According to the hadith, which is the source of the prohibition against causing one’s own death, Jihad is the great exception.
THE EXTENT OF JIHAD
Just before we close, a couple more ahadith demonstrating the jihad does not stop with self-defence, but that its real purpose is to promote the supremacy of Islam over other religions:One of the last things that the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said was, “May Allah fight the Jews and the Christians. They took the graves of the Prophets as places of of prostration. Two (religions) shall not co-exist in the land of the Arabs.” (Malik’s Muwatta, 45:5:17) It has been narrated by ‘Umar b.al-Khattib that he head the Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him) say: I will expel the Jews and Christians from the Arabian Peninsula and will not leave any but Muslims. (Sahih Muslim, 19:4366)The high value placed on Jihad and Martyrdom is well attested in the earliest Islamic sources. Whether or not it should extend to pushing a button on a suicide vest, the passion that fires today’s terrorists comes straight from the words of the Prophet.

“I love that I should be killed in the way of Allah.”- The Prophet Muhammad.”You love life and we love death, which gives an example of what the Prophet Muhammad said”

THE MYTH OR MISCONCEPTION THAT “MUSLIMS DO NOT KILL INNOCENT WOMEN AND CHILDREN” AND “SUICIDE IS FORBIDDEN” in ISLAM.
It has often been pointed out to non-Muslims that “Islam forbids the killing of innocent women and children,” and also that “Islam abhors suicide,” and so condemns “suicide bombers.” It is therefore important and necessary to examine the implications of these statements within the confines of Islamic ideology. Let me make it clearer for you: the vast majority of Islamic scholars agree that suicide is forbidden and the killing of non-combatant civilians (especially women, children and the elderly) is forbidden. Therefore, according to the majority of Islamic scholars, these self-proclaimed “Jihadists” who go around suicide bombing innocent civilians will be going on a trip to hell. Again, I am only going by what the majority of Islamic scholars agree on. I couldn’t care less what a small minority think.
I accept the Islamic concept of “suicide” as HARAM.
Suicide is when a person hills himself intentionally by whatever means. This is Haraam (forbidden) and regarded as amongst the major sins, and likewise included in the general statement of Allah (the Exalted):
“Indeed, whoever (intentionally) kills himself, then certainly he will be punished in the fire of Hell, wherein he shall dwell forever.” [Bukhaaree 5778 and Muslim (109 and 110)]”
Therefore, when westerners, out of “political correctness” describe 9/11 as “suicide bombers” (similar to the Japanese Kamakaze pilots) they gave Muslims a cop-out. The correct, but less palatable term for the 9/11 murders, is more correctly described as “Islamic Jihadist Martyrs” but the West were afraid of offending all of the Muslim world and thus tried to avoid identifying them as Islamic Jihadists. But that is exactly what these murderers were, “Islamic Martyrs” and they are exalted by Muslims world wide, and honoured (perhaps surreptitiously), and are assured a place in Paradise with ALLAH.
Moderate Muslims against violence should condemn these people as “Islamic Martyrs” who have wronged the world, but I know you will never do that because it would be against the teachings of Islam. AN ISLAMIC MARTYR IS A SHAHID, THE HIGHEST RANK OF ALL MUSLIMS.

But I will show you another aspect of “the contradictions in Islam” that you are probably “innocent” about, but you should know:
DUALISM IN ISLAM: narrated ‘ABDULLAH’
During some of the Ghazawat of the Prophet a woman was found killed. Allah’s apostle disapproved the killing of women and children. (Sahih Al-Bukhari, Vol. 4, Book 52, No. 257)
However, there are certain other narration’s that permit the killing of women and children, specifically during Muslim raids where they attack unsuspecting victims at night:
Narrated As-Sab bin Jaththama:
The Prophet passed by me at a place called Al-Abwa or Waddan, and was asked whether it was permissible to attack the pagan warriors at night with the probability of exposing their women and children to danger. The Prophet replied, “They (i.e. Women and children) are from them (i.e. pagans).” I also heard the Prophet saying, “The institution of Hima is invalid except for Allah and His Apostle.” (Sahih Al-Bukhari, Vol.4, Book 52, No. 256)
i.e. They are all the same—both the women and children are nothing more than pagans! (they are of Kafirs and are kafirs.)

Here is another more recent example of the Myths that Islam does not permit killing of innocent women and children:
Now let’s go back to the idea that Islam does not use terror. And let’s take another story. This one happened in Russia in Beslan, where there was a school and the school had roughly a thousand people in it including the children and the personnel. Some Muslim Jihadists attacked the school and took it over and held everyone in it. The Jihadists took all of the children and put them in the gymnasium. They were kept there for days without food or water. Finally the Russian special forces decided that they needed to go in. There was chaos, and as the children jumped out the windows and ran for safety, the Jihadists shot them in the back.
The attack continued. Once it became clear that they were going to lose the building the Jihadists fell back on their original plan. They had brought explosives and placed them in such a way that when they detonated them, the roof fell in on the children. This was the way that most of the children were killed. This saw a terrible attack, but what happened after the attack was this.
Muslim scholars and Muslim Imams all said the same thing, “that was not Islam. In Islam we are forbidden to kill women and children.” And that is true, there are Hadith which state that women and children are not to be killed. However, there are other Hadiths in which they’re getting ready to attack a tribe and the reason they’re attacking is these people are kafirs, they had done nothing wrong. They decided to attack at night and they asked Mohammed what if they made a mistake in the dark and wound up killing women and children and Mohammed said, “they are from them (kafir).”
Well now we have a contradiction. We have Mohammed saying—do not kill women and children and we have Mohammed saying kill them, they are from them. This is dualism. We have contradictory facts, but both of them are true. The Jihadists can choose whichever they want and what did the Jihadists in Beslan do? they chose to kill the children. Why? They are from them. That is, they are kafirs.
In Mohammed’s time, in which he developed the ethics of Jihad, he always had the kafirs confused. The Arabs, just like everyone else, had rules for warfare. Since Mohammed was an Arab they kept expecting him to follow the rules, but Mohammed did not follow the rules. He made them up as he went.
So far as terror not being Islamic, Mohammed said in one of the most famous Hadiths, “I have been given five things that have never been given to anyone before me. One of these things that he was given was that Allah allowed him to spread Islam by awe and terror.
Jihad is terror. So when Muslim scholars say terror is not the way of Islam, they are practising deceit. Indeed the practice of deceit even has a special name in Arabic, tiqqiya. It means sacred deception. To even have the concept of sacred deceit is an amazing ethical thought.
Here’s another example of deceit in Jihad. In modern times we have grown used to the fact that a Muslim Jihadist can strap on dynamite and walk into a room filled with people, kafirs, and kill himself and kill himself and everyone else. Muslim clerics say that is not Islam because suicide is forbidden in Islam. And that is true. Suicide is forbidden in Islam. But there is a very famous Hadith in which Mohammed said that killing yourself while trying to kill kafirs sends you straight to Paradise, therefore the ethical expectation of the person who kills himself in the face of killing others (kafirs) is that he will go straight to heaven. He is a martyr.
In the very term martyr in Islam, we see the distance between the West and Islam, because the word martyr in Islam means someone who dies while killing kafirs, whereas in our language the martyr is the one who is killed because of what he believes.
Here’s another example of the ethical divide. Currently in America there is debate over whether water boarding is torture. Indeed what constitutes torture is being talked about in the media. There is however, no debate inside the Islamic world about torturing kafirs, and the reason is Mohammed tortured kafirs. There is a famous story when he attacked a tribe of Jews. After the Jews had surrendered they took the leader of the Jews and staked him out on the ground at Mohammed’s orders. The reason they did this was they knew that the Jews had a buried treasure. Mohammed had a small fire built on the old man’s chest but he would not speak. He would not give up the secret of the treasure so finally Mohammed said cut him loose and he took him over to a Jihadist who had lost a brother in the attack on the Jews. And he gave the brother the pleasure of killing the leader of the Jews. So as a consequence, inside of Islam there are no questions about whether torture can be used against kafirs. It is Sunna. It is the way of Mohammed to torture the kafir.
Islamic ethics are clearly laid out in the Hadith. Here are some statements about Islamic ethics found in various traditions:
A Muslim is to never cheat another Muslim in business.
A Muslim does not lie to another Muslim.
A Muslim does not kill another Muslim.
A Muslim does not bother another Muslim’s wife.
These statements are very dualistic because this b3ehaviour is only reserved for other Muslims. A Muslim is a brother to other Muslims. Anyone who knows Muslims says “wait a minute, I know a lot of Muslims and they don’t lie to me and they don’t cheat me in business. They don’t come to work with dynamite and killl themselves and other people.” This is Duality. The kafir has two ways of being treated. He can be treated just as a human being. The Golden Rule can even be applied to him if it will advance Islam, but the truth does not need to be told. The truth can be shaded. The most common form of this deceit is for Muslims to only discuss the Koran of Mecca. Only talking about the Koran of Mecca is telling a half-truth, not telling the whole truth.
In our courts, we swear to tell the whole truth and nothing but the truth. Nothing bu the truth prohibits direct lies. But it’s equally important to tell the whole truth because telling half a truth is just another form of a lie. So when a Muslim will discuss with a kafir the Koran of Mecca, the good Koran, this is a form of deceit. All Muslims obey an ethical code which is quite different from our ethical code.
Islamic ethics support how Muslims treat women./ For instance, women can be beaten. Women are set apart in their own separate code. There is an ethical system for slavery. Mohammed as the perfect slave master. His Sunna laid out all the way that slaves are to be treated. There is an ethical system for the treatment of the dhimmi, that strange political creature who is not quite a slave, but certainly not a citizen.
So Islamic ethics lie behind everything that a muslim does, bit it does bring up political questions. If a Muslim does not have to tell the kafir the truth, why would we use Muslim translators for Arabic documents inside of the FBI and the CIA? Muslim translators take an oath, but Islam has a very unique interpretation of oaths, that is, an oath can always be changed by a Muslim for something better, and there is a hadith which explicitly states this. But the Hadith does not really say what is better. That is the choice of the Muslim. So if we have a Muslim policeman or a military man who takes an oath to serve and protect, he can change it anytime he wishes. And for that matter, this same changing of oaths os applied to treaties, political treaties. It the Muslim nation signs a treaty with a kafir it can be abrogated at any time as long as Islam come out on top.
To deal with Islam, it is critical that we understand its ethics. We assume that they’re the same as ours but this assumption os based upon ignorance because Islamic ethics are very different from ours. Ours are based on the unitary law of treating all people the same. Islamic tethics are based upon the idea of kafirs and believers (in Islam) and having a separate set of ethics for each one. One cannot understand Islam without understanding its ethical duality.
